Yarny Yarny Yarn Yarn š
Yarn is such a happy place. All on its own. Wouldnāt you agree? Itās soft, beautiful, useful⦠Good at keeping secrets⦠š
Tea Iām Drinking
Well, now itās 9:20 p.m. I donāt really want an herbal tea⦠I think Iāll have some apple cider. Mmm.
What Iām Reading
How to be a Craftivist is dedicated ā[To] everyone who wants to help improve our wonderful world in a beautiful, gentle and loving way.ā Okay, that I can definitely get behind.
Whatās on My Spinning Wheel
I started making a āplying ballā with my two Emerald singles, to make it a little easier to ply them together, when I do that. Thatās whatās on the knitting needle, there. Didnāt finish, obviously. Not that it takes that long or anything. Do you like my high-tech setup, with the toilet paper rolls? š Oh, just to be clear here, the spinning wheelās only contribution to the current setup is the handy provision of a couple of upright posts to stick the toilet paper rolls on, so theyāll stay in place but spin freely as I pull the yarn singles off. A couple of upright posts called āmaidens,ā because spinning wheel part names are simply amazing. Like, thatās a relatively boring name, compared to some of the other parts. ANYWHO.
I think I succeeded in making one of my singles quite fine and lightweight, so Iām looking forward to measuring the finished yarn and finding out where it clocks in.
Whatās on My Needles
Um, other than the needle Iām using to wind my plying ball after I wanted my thumb back, that isā¦
Iām trying to decide. I have a couple yarns I havenāt swatched at all yet, so Iām trying to figure out if thereās a particular pattern I want to try them out with.
Browses through the library knitting books on shelves. I think maybe Iāll try the Remy cowl pattern in Cozy Stash-Busting Knits by Jen Lucas. Mmm. And thatās just a stockinette stitch swatch, yes, I think Iāll try that one.
My Life Outside of the Felt Comfort Shop (Sorta. Mostly.)
Iām looking at tutoring English as a second language online. Some of the companies allow you to pick how much youāll charge, and recommend charging less when youāre new, then later raising prices after you have a good base of students. Hmm. Kind of like I should probably be doing with my Etsy shop ā lower some prices until I actually have some customers⦠Or maybe Iāll run some sales. Watch this space. š
Your Turn
What do you have going on? Whatās your current WIP? Ooh, and whatās one of your favorite kinds or colors of yarn? Like, if you had a Top Ten, what would one of them be, in that Top Ten? Any of them, not necessarily the very most favorite.
Happy Weekend!
