Saturday Tea in a New Happy Place, Or:
A LITERAL CRAFTY HAPPY PLACE FOR FIBERY, YARNY GOODNESS!!! 😁😆
Hello! Happy New Year! So… as I plan to say in tomorrow’s Saving My Life happy place post, “they” say you’re not supposed to apologize for not writing in a while, for various reasons, but, well, too bad. Sorry, “them.” 😉 I invited you to join me every week for cozy, crafty bookishness over Saturday tea, and then I… disappeared for months! Oops! 🤦♀️😬 Um, sorry about that! I was moving and stuff.
But now I have a CRAFT NOOK! A literal CRAFTY HAPPY PLACE FOR FIBERY, YARNY GOODNESS!!! 😁😆
I don’t currently have any great photos of the nook itself, but there’s this, taken from an experiment with time lapse videos of my spinning:
So that’s cool. Anyway, I’m thinking if I build a habit streak of working on my computer on this, the Saving My Life posts, or my website at least a little every single day, it should get easier to join you for cozy, crafty bookishness every Saturday.
Tea I’m Drinking
My beloved Irish Breakfast tea is getting slightly more difficult to find, not available anymore from the store where I go for groceries when I’m in a hurry, so I’m out for the moment. But Red Rose works. I think I first heard of this brand from Christie Purifoy or Lisa-Jo Baker on their podcast? Thank you!
What I’m Reading
So, both of the craft books I was last in the middle of have gone back to the library. Here are the next couple crafty ones I plan to pick up soon:
The Craftivist one is more philosophical than directly crafty, I think, and I’m no activist, but the idea of the Gentle Protest in the subtitle intrigues me.
As for By Hand, with the words I’ve felted onto soft backgrounds, I’m interested in exploring the lettering itself a bit more.
What’s on My Spinning Wheel
Just finished spinning some superfine merino wool, an Emerald single (Greenwood Fiberwork’s birthstone series of colorways, this one is May’s), as I promised someone (👋) a sweater’s worth of Emerald yarn at a nice discount. Now she needs to go try a swatch with the first bit, to see if I need to modify how I’m spinning it at all! Go, knit! 😊
I see you still here, reading. 😂😉
Sneak Peek
This is what I’m working on listing in my Etsy shop at the moment.
The cowl, that is. Not… myself. Or the play structure thing I’m in. I just crack myself up. 😁
My Life Outside of the Felt Comfort Shop
Well, there was that whole bit about moving. And it’s the eighth day of Christmas! Merry Christmas! 😊🥰🎄
Your Turn
Did you get or give anything exciting for Christmas? What have you been working on or enjoying? Do share!
Happy New Year and Happy Weekend!
